SALT Joins Challenge to Alabama's Notorious HB

SALT continued to challenge Alabama's notorious HB 56, an anti-immigration statute that closes public school education to undocumented children, enlarges state police power, and has a chilling effect on anyone who looks "like an immigrant."  On Monday, November 21, an amicus brief written by Gaela Gehring Flores from Arnold & Porter LLP was filed on behalf of civil and human rights organizations with the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.  SALT thanks Arnold & Porter for its generous contribution of time and expertise and thanks  David Gespass from the National Lawyers Guild who served as local counsel.
