New York Law School, a private institution located in the heart of New York City and one of the oldest independent law schools in the United States, seeks a Dean and President (“Dean”). The Dean must have the vision and leadership skills to continue the great strides the School has made in recent years in education, legal scholarship, diversification of faculty, development of academic centers, and student involvement.
Founded in 1891, NYLS has a diverse student body in both day and evening divisions. Its alumni include U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Marshall Harlan and a great many jurists, public servants, government and corporate leaders, and private practitioners. More than 150 currently sitting judges are graduates of NYLS. The School is located in downtown Manhattan, near the civic and financial centers.
