It’s time to register and make your travel plans for NEPOC 2008!  It is going to be a terrific conference for so many reasons.  Download a detailed brochure and program schedule. 

• Featuring Professor Sheryll Cashin, the author of The Agitator's Daughter: A Memoir of Four Generations of One Extraordinary African-American Family as the 2008 Kellis E. Parker Keynote Speaker.

• Presenting 4 exciting panels with an amazing line up of panelists including Regina Austin, Cheryl Wade, Conrad Johnson, Robin Lenhardt, Peggie Smith, Maurice Dyson, Leonard Baynes, Lia Epperson, Kathleen Engel, Cassandra Jones Harvard, Rosemary Salomone, and many others.

• Supporting an outstanding 27 works in progress from both junior and senior scholars.  This is a record for NEPOC!

• Hosting the SALT Board quarterly meeting (Sunday morning) and looking forward to seeing many of the board members at the conference.

• Including mentoring sessions led by Hope Lewis, Tayyab Mahmud, and Alfred Yen, Sudha Setty and Akilah Folami.

Register Early  To give you an incentive to register early, we have set the early bird registration fee at a very reasonable $125 (the regular fee is $175).  This fee covers three days of programming, breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (SALT meeting), lunch and coffee service on Friday and Saturday and a light reception on Saturday evening.  The deadline for this discount is August 21st.

There’s A Choice of Hotels  The conference has set aside limited blocks of guestrooms at three different hotels.  All the blocks will expire on August 21st.  The hotels vary in their prices, neighborhoods and distances / convenience to the law school.  Below are instructions on how to book a room and short descriptions of the hotels.  For more detailed hotel info, you should visit the hotels’ webpages.

• This hotel is located the furthest from the law school but there will be limited shuttle service (once in the morning Fri/Sat/Sun, once in the evening Fri/Sat) directly to the law school.
• The hotel also does regular shuttle runs to other designated stops throughout Boston for its guests.
• Also the hotel has one of Boston’s premier jazz clubs, Scullers Jazz Club.
