Hofstra University School of Law seeks an inaugural chief external-affairs officer to support its new Dean, Nora V. Demleitner, in securing more sophisticated relationship management and a more prominent regional and national identity for this innovative and still-maturing 38 year old institution.
The ideal candidate shoud have at least 10 years' professional experience, including budget and program management and supervisory responsibilities, in the institutional advancement operation of an academic or other not-for-profit institution, preferably a law or other professional school. A bachelor's degree is required. A JD or experience in private law practice, or familiarity with legal education and the profession gained otherwise, would be advantageous.
