Since 1994 the United States has been a signatory to the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Periodically the US must file a report demonstrating its compliance with the provisions of the treaty. In December 2007, SALT joined other major human and civil rights organizations contesting US compliance.
On January 3, 2008, in junction with the AALS Annual Meeting, SALT presented its Cover Workshop, focusing this year on Humanizing Immigration, and attracting an exciting mix of activist scholars and community activists.
