Our goal is to have SALT Representatives in place at most law schools by the end of this academic year.

Looking for the rep at your school?

Each SALT Representative will serve a term of two years and perform the following functions:

  • Keep colleagues and schools informed about SALT's activities and initiatives.
  • Convey to the SALT Board colleagues’ concerns and relevant issues faced by schools.
  • Propose policies and programs for adoption by the SALT Board.
  • Make recommendations for suitable candidates for the SALT Board.
  • Encourage suitable students to attend SALT’s regional public interest / social justice retreats.
  • Encourage colleagues who are interested in social justice, diversity, and academic excellence to join SALT and renew their membership regularly.
  • Facilitate participation of each law school in SALT’s Annual Salary Survey.

The need to energize SALT is more important than ever in today’s climate. With the pervasive threats to individual liberties, academic freedom, and tenure, it is paramount to unite in our on-going struggles for equality, diversity, and social justice.

Community-building efforts, such as serving as the SALT Representative for your school, will help advance SALT’s goals. Want to learn more about being a law school REP? Contact Adele Morrison who is chairing the committee.
