Salary Survey

Each fall SALT distributes a salary survey to the deans of American law schools to collect information on typical salaries.  The more information collected from the survey, and from public sources, the more accurate the picture of academic salaries.

The results of the survey are published in the winter so that law professors have information available to them for hiring, retention, and promotions.

Beginning in the SALT Salary Survey, 2007-2008, reference is made to how to locate salary information for legal writing, law librarians, and clinicians as well.

SALT thanks Kristi Shiraki, in the Office of the Dean, University of Hawai'i, William S. Richardson School of Law, for her hard work in sending out the survey annually, following up with second and third requests, and organizing the information so that it can be published each year.  Many thanks to Avi Soifer, Dean at University of Hawai'i, for taking on this important project.
